Endumeni Municipality Mayor, Cllr S Ndlovu declared the Glencoe Sports Complex opened just a few days after being sworn in as the new Mayor.
In his address, Mayor Ndlovu highlighted that this projected was funded by Buffalo Coal Mines to the tune of R 6 Million as part of their CSI project which was aimed at giving back to the community of Endumeni. He also alluded that not only will this project get young people out of drugs and crime, but it will also enhance the economy of Glencoe town as teams from out of town; will be coming into Glencoe town to utilize this facility.
Moreover, Mayor pleaded with the community to unite in the protection and utilization of these facilities as they now belong to the community. This sports complex has combo courts, rugby and soccer field, ablution facility, office, fitted grand stands, etc; teams can now book the facility and take on new challenges.
