Endumeni Municipality commemorates Aids Day

Endumeni Local Municipality Honourable Mayor T.M Mahaye along with municipal officials came all out to commemorate Aids day on the 3th of December at Sibongile hall.

The Aids Day awareness kicked started with a march hereby members of the public and municipal officials were handing out informative pamphlets and condoms to households and people at large. The march started from Sibongile Township rank and ended in Sibongile hall where people gathered to attend the event. 

Mayor T.M Mahaye mainly uttered how each and every individual must take care of themselves to avoid being affected by the HIV/AIDS virus.

The aim was to raise consciousness that opted to encourage individuals to have fair and indulgent access to acceptable HIV/AIDS, sexually transmitted infections and tuberculosis preventions, treatment, care and support.

A variety of departments such as the Health, Social Development, and Endumeni Local Task Team came in numbers to support and differently sent their message to all members of the community that came to attend this significant event.

Additionally, the awareness included voluntary plays that were done by community to inform people about HIV/AIDS and other sexually transmitted diseases.

World AIDS Day is commemorated each year on the 1st of December and is a prospect for every community to unite in the fight against HIV, show support for people living with HIV and remember those who have died.
